English - First Language

Cambridge International AS and A Level English Language offer learners the opportunity to learn English and its uses in communication. Learners are encouraged to critically respond to a variety of texts in a variety of formats, styles, and contexts to develop their communication, reading, research, and analytical skills.

 

Through study, learners develop the ability to read and analyse material, gaining further knowledge and understanding of the features and problems of the English language. Learners also develop the ability to write clearly, accurately, creatively and effectively for a variety of purposes and audiences. 

Literature in English

Learners following Cambridge International's AS and A Level English curriculum study a variety of texts in three main forms: prose, poetry and drama. We offer texts adapted to music from different eras and cultures.

 

Learners are encouraged to do more extensive reading to develop their reading and analyzing skills and to develop their understanding of the texts under study. Learn effective and appropriate communication skills, including the ability to discuss important contexts of texts. 

Afrikaans as a Second Language

The Cambridge International A Level Afrikaans Syllabus enables learners to improve their spoken and written fluency, accuracy and confidence, as well as improve their communication skills.

 

You will learn how to improve your use of Afrikaans in a variety of situations, read texts and other sources, extract information, initiate conversations, and answer questions both orally and in writing. 

isiZulu as a Second Language

The Cambridge IGCSE Second Language IsiZulu is designed for learners who already have a working knowledge of the language and wish to develop their understanding in order to further their academic or professional careers.

 

This qualification reflects the widespread use of isiZulu in education, commerce, and entertainment across Southern Africa. Through learning, the learner will understand how to use her isiZulu effectively in situations she encounters in her daily life and in isiZulu-speaking environments. The aim is to achieve a level of communication suitable for everyday use and can also form the basis for further language learning. 

Mathematics

Cambridge International A Level Mathematics develops a range of applicable skills. This includes the ability to process mathematical information, the ability to think logically and independently, the ability to consider accuracy, the ability to mathematically model situations, the ability to analyze results, and the ability to reflect on insights. It is included.

 

Learners can apply these skills to a variety of subjects, and these skills are well prepared for higher education and direct employment.

At the AS level, teachers can choose from her three different routes to her Cambridge International AS Level Mathematics. Pure Mathematics Only, Pure Mathematics and Mechanics, Pure Mathematics and Probability & Statistics.

 

At A Levels, teachers can also choose different routes to Cambridge International A Level Mathematics, depending on their choice of applied mathematics (mechanics and/or probability and statistics). 

Mathematics Additional

Cambridge International A Level Further Mathematics develops and extends a set of transferable skills. These include the skill of working with mathematical information, as well as the ability to think logically and independently, consider accuracy, model situations mathematically, analyse results and reflect on findings.

 

Learners can apply these skills across a wide range of subjects and these skills equip them well for progression to higher education or directly into employment. Some universities prefer applicants for degrees in mathematics and mathematical/scientific subjects to have an AS or A Level Further Mathematics or equivalent qualification.

This syllabus is intended for high-ability learners who have achieved, or are likely to achieve, a high grade in the Cambridge International A Level Mathematics examination. Knowledge of the whole content of the Cambridge International A Level Mathematics syllabus is assumed. Learners will find that the additional time spent studying Further Mathematics will support their understanding of Level Mathematics.

The syllabus includes an emphasis on key theoretical concepts underlying the subject, current applications of physics, and advanced practical skills. Practical skills are tested in scheduled practical exams.

 

The emphasis throughout is on understanding concepts, applying physical ideas in new contexts, and acquiring knowledge. This course promotes creative thinking and problem-solving skills that are transferable to future career paths. Cambridge International AS and A Level Physics are ideal for learners studying physics or a range of related subjects at university, or for those wishing to pursue a career in science. 

Chemistry

Cambridge International AS and A Level Chemistry builds on skills acquired at Cambridge IGCSE levels (or equivalent). The syllabus includes an emphasis on key theoretical concepts underlying the subject, current applications of chemistry, and advanced practical skills. Practical skills are tested in scheduled practical exams.

Geography

The geography syllabus builds on the skills acquired in a Cambridge IGCSE course (or equivalent). Learners expand their knowledge and understanding of the subject matter while developing investigative, assessment, and decision-making skills.

 

The curriculum is broad and offers a wide variety of choices. For example, learners can explore topics such as hydrology and river topography, atmosphere and weather, rocks and weathering, population change, and settlement dynamics. Curriculum considers a range of environments, from tropical to arid, and learners can also explore topics such as environmental management, global interdependence, and economic change. 

Business Studies

This curriculum enables students to understand and appreciate the nature and scope of business and the role it plays in society. It encourages students to examine the decision-making process in a dynamic and changing business environment and develop a critical understanding of business organization. Get to know the company and its environment, human resources management, marketing, operations management, finance and accounting. At Cambridge International A Levels, students also learn how to develop business strategy. 

Information and Communication Technology

Cambridge International AS & A Level Information Technology enables learners to become effective and intelligent users of IT.

    capabilities that your child has access to throughout the day.

Evolvees complete work & assignments

Evolvees follows their teacher’s instructions to complete the tasks required and joins scheduled group classes. The Evolvee attends catch-up sessions with their teacher, if required, and takes part in group discussions and assignments. The Evolvee logs in to the Learning Management System and systematically work through the content and when mastery is achieved, they can move straight onto the next section. Evolvees are also responsible for submitting assessments and assignments as indicated on the Learning Management System.

Parents assist

Parents check up on progress made and keep an eye on the student’s time management skills and regularly checks assessments and assignments that have been allocated to the student. Parents facilitate and monitor any formal assessments, download tests and exams when needed and submitting completed tests on the assessment section on the Learning Management System.

Teachers
guide the journey

Our teachers communicate learning outcomes to the student and presents scheduled group classes. The teacher follows up with each student personally to guide their progress, schedules and presents extra activation classes for students who need extra help, checks in on the mastery of learning outcomes, and follows the student’s progress on the Learning Management System.

Life Coaches

While you are the most important coach in the life of your AS Levels Phase child, we also have a qualified life coach who is equipped to engagingly interact with your child and help them grasp basic skills, navigate life, and verbalise their emotions. Our life coaches play a key role at our day camps where they interact with each child.

  • The foundation phase is one in which you as a parent have a crucial role to play.

    Your child’s teacher is a knowledgeable foundation phase teacher who will assist and advise you at every step in the educational journey of your child. They will check in with you personally every week to discuss requirements and progress, and will help you assess your child’s mastery of concepts and activities. They also facilitate the live group classes that your child attends.

    Your child's teacher is a knowledgeable and passionate senior phase teacher who will assist and advise you at every step in the educational journey of your child. They will provide a framework of what exactly what needs to be done and will mainly be responsible for assessing your child’s mastery of concepts and activities. If your child has trouble with a certain concept, they will schedule activation sessions to assist in mastering that particular hurdle.

Assessments takes place continuously and in various ways.


The learning pathways guide your child's progress they are following on Blackboard Ultra (our Learner Management System) and is monitored by an AI machine learning system. The teachers may contact you to discuss any home-based requirements and keep you informed about your child's progress. They have consultation hours during the week where you or your child can make an appointment to discuss any specific challenges.
